Stray bullet hits Marion home, police investigating

Police in Marion are investigating a shooting that put a bullet hole in one resident’s home.
In a news release, the Marion Police Department said they responded to the scene in the 300 Block of South Second Street late Sunday night after receiving reports of gunshots, however officers were unable to locate suspects, victims, or just where the shots originated from.
The next day though, a bullet was found in home nearby. Police say the stray bullet went through both the exterior and interior walls of the home, coming to a rest in the living room.
Currently, police do not think the home was intentionally targeted. Anyone with information is asked to contact law enforcement.
