Senior Hot Shot: Ali Paintner


Ali is a senior at Herrin High School. She is a two-sport athlete and is active in the community, spending her time volunteering. She will continue her education and softball career at Frontier Community College starting in the Fall of 2020 where she will major in Elementary Education.
Aside from softball, Ali also has played basketball for the Herrin Tigers.

Q: What moment in your high school athletic career sticks out most to you?
A: The moment that sticks out most to me is getting the opportunity to pitch in the Super Sectional game my freshman year against Rochester.
Q: How have you and your teammtes tried to keep in contact despite the coronavirus?
A: We have stayed connected through social media. All of us are very close and always try to stay in contact.
Q: How has the coronavirus affected your view on sports?
A: The Coronavirus has taught me not to take things for granted. It has made me want to work even harder because you never know when something so special can be taken away.
Q: Once the pandemic is over with and life gets back to normal, what are you most looking forward to?
A: I am looking forwards to playing with my travel team again, as well as getting to know my future college teammates.
Q: What goals do you have for yourself post-graduation, sports-related or life-related?
A: I plan to further my academic and softball career into college and work my way towards a degree in Elementary Education.
