J.J. McCarthy, the top football prospect in the state and quarterback of Nazareth Academy in La Grange, announced on Twitter Monday that he will be tranferring to IMG Academy in Florida to ensure he gets a senior year of playing football this fall.
McCarthy, the #1 player in Illinois’ Class of 2021 and the #5 rated pro-style quarterback nationally has led the Roadrunners to a pair of 7A State Finals appearances, including a title in 2018. He has committed to the University of Michigan.
IMG Academy is a preparatory boarding school and sport training destination that offers integrated academic and athletic college preparatory experience across eight sports.
