The Herrin Tigers dominated at the Du Quoin Tipoff Classic last week and walked away with both the title of champions and the #1 ranking in the latest John A. Logan College SI Basketball Coaches’ Poll. The Tigers went a perfect 4-0 through the week, including winning a pair of games on Saturday to improve to 5-0 to start the season.
Entering the top 10 for the first time this season is the Murphysboro Red Devils, who stunned Carterville Saturday night in the Ernie Bozarth Memorial Tournament’s Championship game 60-53.
There is a three-way tie for third place between Breese Central, Massac County, and Carterville.
Nashville and Teutopolis fall out of the Top 10 this week.
