ASHLEY, Ill. (WJPF) – A Jefferson County man has been arrested on charges of sexual assault and child pornography.
Police say they had been investigating Robert Paul, 57, of Ashley since early July. According to court documents, his victims were under 13.
Robert Paul was arrested on Friday, October 27, at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Police say he drove himself to jail, initially questioning police why officers were on his property earlier in the day. A detention hearing to determine pretrial release is scheduled for Wednesday, November 1.
