18-year-old arrested for shooting at moving vehicle

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Police say they’ve arrested the man suspected of firing multiple shots at a moving vehicle last month in Carbondale.

Carbondale Police say Justin Perteet-Lovelady, an 18-year-old  Murphysboro resident, was caught with a loaded handgun and a controlled substance when he was arrested around 2:00 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators say on June 21, Perteet-Lovelady got out of his vehicle and fired several shots at  moving vehicle near the intersection of West Main and North Springer in Carbondale.  No one was hurt, but a building was damaged by a stray bullet.

Justin Perteet-Lovelady was taken to the Jackson County Jail on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a firearm, armed violence, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting a police officer.
