John A. Logan College Little Egypt Football Poll Week 9: Chester rises to #1 following Murphysboro loss at Carterville

Headed in to the final week of the regular season, there is only one remaining undefeated team in Little Egypt and that team is also this week’s #1.  The Chester Yellow Jackets started the season unranked but have risen to the top spot in the John A. Logan College Little Egypt Football Poll.  A win over Waterloo on Saturday would cement a perfect regular season for the Yellow Jackets.

Carterville was the biggest riser in this week’s poll after a big 28-25 win over Murphysboro in Week 8 to claim the SIRR Ohio Division title.  They are tied with Murphysboro this week for #4.

Murphysboro, Du Quoin, and Sesser-Valier all tied for the biggest drop in this week’s poll, each dropping three spots after losses in games that, had they won, would have netted them a conference championship.
