WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Police are trying to figure out who stole a car over the weekend and then crashed and abandoned it in rural Williamson County.
A passerby reported the crashed car Sunday morning near the intersection of Lake of Egypt Road and Power Plant Road. When police located the owner, they were unaware the car was even missing. Police later determined that the car was stolen sometime Saturday night from a home in Johnson County.
Anyone with information about the theft is encouraged to contact either the Williamson or Johnson County sheriff’s offices.
