The Illinois House of Representatives Tuesday adopted a House Resolution congratulating former State Senator and Okawville High School basketball coach David Luechtefeld on a lifetime of achievement as an outstanding athlete, athletic director, and coach – as well as his service as a state senator and teacher.
Luechtefeld was the head coach of the Rockets from 1962 to 1999, putting together a 711-340 career record as a boys basketball coach, along with a second and third place finish at the State Finals. He was also a Baseball coach from ’62 to 1988 where he put together a 506-322 record.
