VIENNA, Ill. (WJPF) – A man has been sentenced after a vehicular hijacking in Vienna.
Angel Gutierrez-Ortiz pled guilty March 12 and was sentenced to 13 years.
January 17 he hid in the back of a vehicle of an 18 year old female. When she got into her vehicle, he pressed a knife against her side and neck and directed her to continue to drive the vehicle. The victim was able to exit the vehicle and escape.
Gutierrez-Ortiz was arrested the next morning after police saw him exiting a wooded area near the Vienna High School.
