Vols land #16 seed headed in to NJCAA Tournament

John A. Logan College won Friday night’s Region 24 Championship game over Kaskaskia 84-46 to punch their ticket to Hutch and compete in this year’s NJCAA Division I Tournament.  On Sunday, the Vols found out who and when they will be playing in the first round.  Logan landed the #16 seed in the 24-team tournament; they will meet #17 Connors State College in the first game of the tournament – 12pm Saturday March 22.

The Vols (23-9) missed last season’s tournament but in 2023 won their first National Title under the guidance of head coach Tyler Smithpeters.

Connors State College (28-3) made it as far as the semi-finals in last year’s tournament before losing to eventual runner-up Triton.

John A. Logan College brings a 10-game win streak in to the tournament.

The winner of Saturday’s game will meet the top-seed Snow College (32-1) on Monday, March 24 at 12pm.

You’ll be able to hear the Vols and all their games live from Hutchison, Kansas on 103.5 ESPN.  Pregame begins at 11:45am this Saturday morning.
