Multiple Stolen Vehicles Recovered in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Multiple stolen vehicles have been recovered in Williamson County.

Around 4:15am Thursday December 19, with the help of a tip, a Jeep and ATV were located by deputies while conducting a search of the Sugar Creek area south of Creal Springs.

The Jeep was previously reported stolen out of Marion and the ATV out of rural Williamson County.

Then around 8:30am a stolen vehicle was located by officers at a Casey’s in Johnston City.

When initiating a stop, the vehicle attempted to flee, struck a parked vehicle and three male suspects fled on foot. Deputies were able to catch all three.

The vehicle was stolen out of Schaumburg, Illinois. The suspects were later identified as two 17 year olds and one 16 year old.

A search of the vehicle discovered a large amount of cannabis, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, packaging materials, and THC vapes.

They were transported to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office facing several charges.

These recoveries come just days after Williamson County shared they had investigated 36 vehicle thefts since October 12th and have been able to recover 32 of those vehicles.
