17-year-old arrested in liquor store robbery

COLP, Ill. (WJPF) – A 17-year-old broke into a Williamson County liquor store and took multiple bottles of alcohol before he was eventually tracked down and arrested by police.

The break-in happened around 2:00 am Sunday at the Big Daddy Liquor and Fuel in Colp. Surveillance video shows the teen throwing an object through the glass front door.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says one of their K-9’s tracked the scent of the suspect to a home on Madison Street in Colp. A 17-year-old inside was questioned and admitted to the break-in and theft. He was charged with burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property and then released to the custody of a parent.
