The John A. Logan College Volunteers jumped out to a quick start Wednesday night in the Region 24 Tournament Semi-Finals against Lake Land College, leading 53-27 at the half.
Julian Norris and Decarl Payne both score 18 while Marcus Eaves nets another 16 as the Vols defeat the Lakers 101-82, improving to 22-9 on the season.
Red Hot Blue Devils
In the first semi-final game of Wednesday night, Kaskaskia went on an 8-0 run with under 10 minutes to play to finally break free of a close game with Lincoln Trail, holding on for a 63-57 victory. The 8-seed Blue Devils advance to the Championship game on the backs of Myles Liddell (18 points) and Lyonel Hodges (17 points).
Championship Friday
The 2-seed Vols and 8-seed Blue Devils meet in the Region 24 Tournament Championship game Friday night at 7pm at Rend Lake College in Ina, Illinois. The winner of the game will earn an automatic bid to the NJCAA Tournament in Hutchison, Kansas.
Mike Murphy, Tim Ricci, and Dave McKenzie will have the call on 103.5 ESPN and the 103.5 ESPN App starting at 6:45pm Friday night.
